This year SMGEC attended the Huddlesford Gathering on the Saturday, rather than the Sunday in an attempt to avoid the Sunday which has been heavily oversubscribed in previous years as far as the classic cars display is concerned. In the event, this proved to be the correct decision, as the Saturday was a glorious sunny day, whilst there was rain on the Sunday. 12 members cars attended, and a good time was had by all, with much interest shown in the cars. A number of visitors also expressed an interest in the club, taking membership forms away.
As in previous years, there was plenty to see and do, with numerous trade stalls and boats in attendance, a full program of events in the arena, live music throughout the day and the open club bar, not to mention the ice cream van which was doing a roaring trade!
